Quantic & Alice Russell

Look Around The Corner

If you know me, then you know that Alice Russell is one of my favorite R&B singers of all time. Her first album, Under the Munka Moon should be added to any discussion about modern soul music. Alice has been on the low for a minute, but I’m glad to see a press release make its way to my inbox last night, talking about a Quantic and Alice Russell collaboration album. Yes.

Quantic (of Quantic Soul Orchestra and now of Combo Bárbaro) now resides in Cali, Columbia, and the album was recorded there. From the looks of this sample, it eschews Quantic’s recent Latin roots and goes back to more orchestrated vintage soul. Check it.
