Lady Parts

Fudge is a collaboration between producer Prefuse73 and emcee Michael Christmas. Prefuse73 is best known for his glitchy, abstract, instrumental hip hop. He has worked with hip hop legends Ghostface Killah, El-P, Mos Def, Mikah 9, MF DOOM and the Gza. 'Lady Parts' is the first full-length album he has made with a rapper. Michael Christmas is a 22 year old Boston emcee who has spent the last two years dropping his debut and sophomore mixtapes and touring the USA, opening for Logic and Mac Miller. He has a rare degree of charisma and realism that sets him apart from many of his peers in the ones-to-watch lists. Fudge came together during several sessions in the summer and fall of 2015 at Nick Hook's Green Point studio. Prefuse73 brought along a hard drive full of beats. Christmas wrote to the instrumentals in the studio, and recorded the vocals the same day, as friends swung by to check it out. Some of the drop-ins at the studio ended up joining in the recording, not least D.R.A.M. who brings lifted soul vocals on 'Al Points South'. Months of intensive mixing followed the last Brooklyn session. Prefuse rebuilt his studio in upstate New York and set about finishing the album, making something that pays off on repeat headphone listens as well as one that bumps hard. The result is an album of heavyweight production with funny and authentic lyrics. LP - Vinyl with Download.
