60s 70s Soul Funk back in stock due to the sad news that soul and jazz singer terry callier has died updated version of the classic terry callier acoustic debut album from 1965 with three previously unreleased tracks from the same sessions aged only 23 'new folk sound of' was recorded by samuel charters in the webb recording studios in chicago in just one day 29 july 1964 and released in the late summer of the following year there are only 3 musicians terry callier on guitar and vocals terbour attenborough on bass and john tweedle also on bass all the songs are covers five being public domain traditionals while the other three were from songwriter catalogues of the time 'cotton eyed joe' is a beautiful rendition a voice at once reminiscent of elvis or nina simone but truly original
