About Rise
Rise is the UK's Best Independent Music Retailer as voted for at the 2010 Music Week Awards. We opened the first Rise in Cheltenham on 22th November 2007 we had scrambled together enough stock and racking to open the shop and to our delight it proved a success! We then opened a second site at the University of Warwick in April 2008. We opened our 3rd, largest stock in Bristol on 27th June 2009. During the 3 years that we have existed, we have developed our offer & service resulting in the website we are now launching. We believe in three core principles: great service, great range, & great price.
We have established a reputation as being an innovative and exciting retailer through our product offer. We look high & low to try and source exciting, interesting products that other people either do not sell or don't do a good job of selling! We have had several instore appearances which underline our passion & support for new music; artists such as The xx, Mumford & Sons, Laura Marling, Frank Turner, Andy Sheppard and The Creole Choir Of Cuba have all played the hallowed upstairs in Bristol as well as a whole host of local acts. We try and foster & encourage a strong community in our shops by stocking local artists' albums, helping to promote gigs and giving great service. We feel priveliged to have the opportunity to share our passion for music, films & books with our customers!
